Virtual Sex Ed Summit: Healthcare Matters!

Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Power and Potential is celebrating Sex Ed For All Month with its 2nd annual Sexual Health Matters: Virtual Sex Ed Summit. Join other educators, youth-serving professionals, caregivers, and young people each day from May 19-May 22 for a Summit designed to address, help raise awareness and increase dialogues about sexual health issues affecting all young people. These free interactive sessions will cover a variety of topics, including The State of Sex Ed, Building an Inclusive Learning Environment, Tips for Talking with a Healthcare Provider, and The Myth of "The Talk!”

Education Matters! 

Kicking off the Sex Ed Summit will be a focus on education. Young people deserve trauma-informed, inclusive, affirming education and environments.

Creating the community young people want requires listening to their wants and needs and responding in a values-neutral approach.

Healthcare Matters! 

Young people who are given the skills and autonomy to communicate about their health needs with a provider are more likely to take responsibility for their health.

Conversation Matters! 

Having continual conversations with young people can encourage more open and fluid conversations about their health and relationships.
